Despite cancellation on the Friday because of bad weather, the 2009 Dundee Flower and Food Festival had a bumper weekend for visitors on Saturday and Sunday as the event went ahead as planned.

The 2009 line-up included restaurateur and celebrity chef Nick Nairn, and gardening broadcaster Frieda Morrison. In the Floral Marquee, the spectacular colour and fragrance of the beautiful displays of top-class cut flowers along with wonderful examples of vegetables and floral art impressed the judges and visitors alike.

At the Garden Fair there was an amazing variety of seeds, bulbs and quality plants for sale. In the Children’s Marquee events, activities and competitions kept gardeners of all ages entertained.

A special addition to the 2009 Festival was the Fest’n'Furious Stage, which showcased some of the great acts associated with Dundee’s festival of Roots and Traditional music, which takes place annually in October.
